YouTube on Verizon cell phones
Change the wireless interface and you've got mobile TV on WiMAX
YouTube is a video service that is essentially a website where Hollywood mogul wannabes forward their often home made video. It was recently acquired for $2.3 billion. Verizon has announced it will offer that service on their cellular Vcast service. What I like about this is that it's a half step toward mass market mobile TV using WiMAX. Vcast is available on my Motorola RAZR phone. I assume that Motorola will soon have a WiMAX version of the RAZR, ergo a mobile WiMAX TV service in the US is probably only a year away.
