Intel and BMW Sauber F1 Team Demonstrate WiMAX Capabilities

At CES this week in Las Vegas, I got an interesting look of WiMAX technology in action.

wiamxsmallcarIntel and the BMW Sauber FI team put together a demonstration in which CES attendees in the central hall of the LVCC were able to race smaller remote control cars in a parking lot a ½ mile away utilizing a working WiMAX network.   Racers sat in replicas on Forumula 1 racers and controlled the cars while receiving real-timer video of the course on Dell XPS laptops.

f1It’s just yet another example of what is possible with the technology.
