System integrator Tech Mahindra to install RedMAX 4C mobile WiMAX radios to power multi-city networks.
Redline Communications announced that Milcom Systems of Thailand has selected
its RedMAX 4C mobile WiMAX products for its first WiMAX initiative. Tech
Mahindra, Redline's systems integration partner, will manage the implementation
of the RedMAX 4C network.
Milcom is deploying WiMAX systems at Amata Industrial Park, Thailand's biggest
industrial park located outside of Bangkok, to deliver 802.16e-2005 trial
services to the region's business users. The network will incorporate a
new high-power outdoor Remote Radio Head based on Redline's 4th generation
technologies and its WiMAX Forum Certified RedMAX 4C RPM (RedMAX Personal Modem)
subscriber units.
"The introduction of Mobile WiMAX services to our customers in Thailand will
enable Milcom to further enhance our service offerings," said Rattana Metem,
Managing Director, Milcom Systems Co., Ltd. Tech Mahindra worked closely
with Milcom throughout the evaluation process and will manage the first pilot in
Bangkok. "Milcom's Mobile WiMAX network is characteristic of the types of
WiMAX networks that we are jointly pursuing with Redline throughout the Asia
Pacific and other key geographic regions," said CP Gurnani, President,
International Operations, Tech Mahindra.
Milcom Systems, established in 1993, designs and installs communication networks
in Thailand, serving high-speed Internet using both wired and wireless
technologies. Milcom was the first official operator to provide Internet
in Bangkok (Don Muang), Chiang Mai, and Phuket under the WLANNET service brand.
Milcom has developed high-speed Internet services for more than 50 hotels and
apartments, which currently serve more than 10,000 subscriber locations.
