Far EasTone and Motorola Partner to Launch WiMax in Taichung city

Motorola announced today that Far EasTone Telecom of Taiwan has launched WiMax 4G service in Taichung city with Motorola's end-to-end WiMax solutions.

The new WiMax service adds to FET's current 2G, 3G, and 3.5G capabilities. Motorola contracted with FET for deployment of WiMax in 2007 and expansion of the network in 2009. Currently, the network encompasses most of Taichung city, though coverage and capacity will continue to expand as usage increases over time.
