Best of WiMAX World Award Winners Announced
America’s Network magazine recognizes promising products supporting the upcoming WiMAX standard
Santa Ana, Calif.— November 3, 2005— America’s Network, a premiere telecommunications publication for nearly 100 years, recognized three products at WiMAX World Conference and Expo 2005 in Boston, MA, that it calls “the most inspiring products available for the WiMAX platform. Exhibitors submitted product nominations and the entries were judged based on ability to exploit the exciting advantages that WiMAX technology offers, distinctiveness, potential impact and usefulness. The editors of America’s Network along with a panel of distinguished judges—Joan Engebretson, Senior Correspondent, America’s Network; Peter Fuhr, Ph.D., CTO, Apprion; and Hesh Kagan, president, WINA (Wireless Industrial Networking Alliance) and Director of New Ventures, Invensys Process Systems—reviewed the entries, weighed relative merits, and scrutinized candidate products to determine the winners.
“The Best of WiMAX World Awards recognize products we feel take best advantage of the unique and powerful characteristics of WiMAX,” said Al Senia, Editor of America’s Network magazine.
“WiMAX is going to be huge and important,” said Dr. Peter Fuhr. “I foresee that this wide-bandwidth, big-footprint system will be spun up by numerous organizations that are trying to stomp out the rampant Wi-Fi-ing of the nation.”
