Samsung Introduces New Devices and Demonstrates Infrastructure Interoperability in Support of Sprint’s Commercial Launch Of XOHM™

Samsung Unveils Ultra Mobile PC and PC Card to Deliver Mobile WiMAX Services to U.S. Customers

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Offering consumers several options to harness the speed and mobility of WiMAX, Samsung’s IT and Mobile divisions today announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Q1 Ultra Premium Mobile PC and the Samsung E100 PC Card. Both devices will operate exclusively on Sprint’s XOHM mobile broadband Internet service compliant to the WiMAX standard. The commercial launch is expected to begin in Baltimore, Washington DC and Chicago later this year.

The Samsung Q1 Ultra Premium Ultra Mobile PC is a compact, powerful computer that operates on the Windows Vista® or XP Tablet Edition operating systems and the high performance Intel Core Solo ULV processor. The Q1 Ultra Premium offers a large, ultra-bright 7-inch LCD screen, V1.5 split-QWERTY keyboard, and up to 6.5 hours of continuous run time. The Q1 Ultra Premium supports ubiquitous connectivity via the embedded Sprint XOHM broadband service, as well as support for 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® 2.0 + EDR. The Q1 Ultra Premium is scheduled to be available in the fall of 2008.

The E100 is a single mode PC card that operates on Sprint’s XOHM service. The E100 easily attaches to the user’s laptop computer to deliver 4G speeds with ubiquitous mobility. E100 is scheduled to be available in June.

“Sprint is very excited that Samsung will bring these new devices to the U.S. market to facilitate the speed and mobility of our XOHM service,” said Barry West, CTO and President of Sprint’s XOHM Business Unit.
